It runs again (mostly) clutch fan is shot.. anybody have a trick way of locking them in place? have to get it off there to see what's possible or just replace it with an old school fan. Edelbrock tablet shut it's self off 4 TIMES while trying to get the parameters set. Once we got to the point where it said to hit the key, it fired right up! wasn't going to take it down the road yet (no trans kickdown yet), but it was getting hot at idle and wanted to see if it was the radiator or not. She cooled right down on the road. It was a freak Oct. day, 77 degrees.. On the road, it pulls very smooth. No stumbles, hiccups, etc. Idle needs some work, but with the issues trying to set it up, may have to go back through the whole deal, IAC reading was jumping around.. So far it's night and day. Busted 360 to an EFI 401.. should pull a house down once it's tuned in.

Jeep is running good. Most of the issues were on start up, both cold and hot restart, but it does appear to be learning more each time I drive it. "Real" exhaust system hopefully early next week.

I was going to suggest just replacing the thermostatic fluid (see https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/...umbers.561095/ ) in the existing fan clutch, but new fan clutches are embarrassingly cheap. Trying to replace the fluid makes as little sense as a hack lockup job or a reversion to an "old school" (solid hub?) fan - no need to go backward and no advantage to doing si. Just replace the fan clutch and drive it.

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.

Got the new exhaust system installed today. This is before with a temporary muffler installed.

This is 4 Margaritas later with 2 cats and a duel inlet and single 3" outlet exhaust installed.

Forgot to mention.. This was actually a fun adventure. Dropped the Wagoneer off at the Muffler shop and swapped woes with the owner who I just happened to go to school with. Went for a extended lunch, talked about politics with Bruce and went back to pick up the Wagoneer. At the Muffler shop we got to see all of the owners hot rod projects and talked about his family etc. and car stuff. One of the "kids" that I went to school with in 1902 had stopped in and was asking about the Wagoneer. Car guys rule..
