727 Valve Body Removal

Hey i may have over looked it in my search but i cant see where someone shows how to remove the valve body from a 727. This is still in my Wagoneer and from what i can see i need to remove the shift linkage and kick down then the body will fall out. Is this correct? or is there a less pain staking way to remove it... thanks

Long while back, I got a transgo shift kit for an A999 torqueflite. I remember that I looked up a whole bunch of stuff, when it came to installing it. I never actually did install it though. Plan's changed and I sold the engine I was going to attach to it.
Anyway's, not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but I don't think you had to disconnect shift linkage or kickdown. When you get to it, you can just unbolt it, and it comes out. For my shift kit, there would be a little work i'd have to do to the valve body.
Now, this is just going off of my memory, which isn't the best... but that's what I could come up with. For more info, keep looking it up. Better yet, look up a tear down video on youtube. there should be one.

Ok so i finally got to this.

It turned out there are two bolts that hold down the shifter and kickdown. You will HAVE to remove these to get the valve body out. They require a little prying once the two bolts are out. Also keep in mind there is a ut and bolt that will spin freely so you have to have a wrench on both.

Once the shift linkages are removed you can remove the bolts to drop the valve body. However when you do so youll have the park lever still jammed through the trans. You can either wiggle it out or remove the E-clip that holds it in place. I did the latter, it worked for me as i didnt have to try and jam that rod back in place.
