6.0L Swap - Braking and other questions

We have ordered a 6.0L powertrain swap from Novak and they are working on building it now.

Some stupid questions.

We want to upgrade the brakes, can we install hydroboost (same parts from BJ's) at the same time we do the powertrain upgrade?

Also, anyone who has done a 5.3L or 6.0L swap every installed dual batteries then after, under the hood, do they fit?

Trying to plan ahead.

Swap will be ready and installed in June, will post pics then.

I would imagine that with a few measurements from someone you could do the hydroboost install now. No need to wait for the engine, probably even easier with everything else out of the way.

I'm not quite understanding, do you have the parts for the hydro boost already? If you don't, spend a bit of time sourcing the parts yourself. You can save a ton of money that way. And if you buy a bracket from Elliot here on the board, it's still essentially a bolt on upgrade.

Don't fret over brake options unless your new fangled motor causes you to drive beyond your or your cars limits. Stock drum brake systems in up to spec condition work just fine for design intended use. On the aux battery thing: eng bay space is limited. The PO of my 72 cut the port side inner fender well out, built an alum insert batt box and dropped it in the hole. Stock suspension...no issues off pavement with tire interference (33's) or mud/water splash etc. If that's not an acceptable option for you you'll have to polish your tape measure, sharpen your pencil and get creative shuffling eng bay components around.

I don't have the brake parts yet. I like to tow small trailers (like loaded with 2 800 lbs yamaha 4-wheelers), so am thinking the brake upgrade is a good idea. These smaller trailers don't have trailer brakes. Better safe than sorry.

I suppose there are posts out there already for sourcing the parts on our own.

As for the batteries, thanks for the reply. I guess we'll take a look after the install is done and figure out if building something similar is worth it. Is there a thread with photos of the 2 batteries with the cutout?

The Captain did a nice job installing dual batteries here.

i installed a hydroboost from elliot with my 5.3L. i used powersteering lines from a 2005 escalade and the bolted right up to the boost and pump with almost no bending.

Great thanks for the responses. I'll look into both of those solutions. Looks like the build thread on the 6.0l will be very interesting.

thanks again for all the help.
