Haha Oh man PRONG! I immediately had to go listen to that again.
I'm 42yrs young and graduated in 92. I recently got Spotify and am loving going back and listening to music from my teen years. Pantera, Slayer, Slipnot, old Metallica. Some good times lately working in the garage working on the Rig listing to tunes. Although I seem less angry but can still relate. My wife of 10yrs knows me as the public radio guy as background noise. She thinks I'm going through my midlife crisis. I think she might be right. I hope it is cause I'm loving it!

I will tell you what makes it sound even better is when you head into your teenage sons room to chew some @$$ and he looks up from his phone and he is scrolling through his playlist and is is chock full of that great stuff!

Me: JAMIE!! I told... you.... is that Youth of a nation?!? Oh, let me show you some better P.O.D.....
Jamie: did you have something you needed?
M: oh yeah, mom said quit doing something. here, go to the Scorpions page...

That is awesome, and a great connection with your kiddo.

Even better is noticing the odd glances from fellow parishioners as you and your son walk across the parking lot to Mass on a Sunday evening and discuss the connections between bands Minor Threat, Black Flag, Fugazi, Bad Religion, Samhain, and even a little connection to Slayer. I love those conversations and the puzzled looks from folks.

Too fun, thanks for the thread, Ristow.

Rang you are right. Sorry Graduated in 96. Funny before I posted that I had been lusting over a 92 IROC-Z down the street from me. Must have been stuck in my head!

My kids are still little 8yrs and 5yrs. Will be pretty cool to see what type of music they get into.

Roses are red, violets are blue,
I'm almost twice as old as you 2.

I was intrigued by your admitted ages and music choices, so I chimed in. I had to make my boys quit playing this stuff; it clashed with my Sinatra, Glen Miller, Elvis, and Bing. But both my boys are older than you guys and, I'm kidding about the music; I listened to whatever they played--didn't understand all of it, but didn't ban it. Chubb..., good message to your son. I'm glad you young guys are interested in the old iron. I mean I graduated in '56 so that makes me 40 years older than you, Rusty, and I'm driving a truck that's also older than you guys, so I naturally think old people--old iron.
Keep your rides going, tires down and power up; and let the old music play.
