I've Been Gone A While - Got A New Rig!

Hey Everyone,

Well I have been gone a while but have been Lurking. I originally had picked up a stripped 1977 Chief as a project. Well life got in the way between work and our family growing and the chief sits. I have kept lurking an learning dreaming of what I wanted to do overall to the project and making lists of parts and options of what I wanted to do.

A few months back I ended up at the Mecum auction in Las Vegas with my Father, Brother and Brother in law. I stumbled upon a resto mod frame off 1981 Wagoneer and fell in love. Well, I won the auction and brought her home. Now the fun begins.

She looks great in photos but there are small things here and there that need to be attended to and there is certain modifications I will be making to make the rig my own. I plan to drive this rig and use it to haul the family for trail rides etc. More overland type adventures. This platform provides the reliability I was looking for with the vintage style I love in these Jeeps.

I'm looking forward to sharing my build along the way! I'm also looking for a name for the rig if you have any suggestions.

Welcome back - I love the color of that, and those valve covers are pretty cool.
Looks like it's going to be one helluva fun ride!

Thanks! Yeah I am a huge fan of the blue Color. I am working on the Razor grille swap this week. Luckily I have all of the parts off the Donor Chief.

Great looking wag! That is some paint job. That kind of work is really special and hard to find.

Impressive find.... woody valve cover, this is a show. Nice work on the AC vents.

May be more specs on the engine/trany/TC gearing to tease us with low power 360!

85 Gwag, 229 Kmiles. $250 FSJ test lab since 02, that refuses to give up but still leaks.
