hood hinge coming off

The hood on my 66 gladiator is rubbing in the back when I open the hood. I thought all I would have to do is adjust the hood forward but when I got to looking I noticed the hinges have actually come off the fenders. They looked like they were just tack welded on from the factory. It actually tore a hole in the sheet metal on the passenger side. They are still attached to the firewall via bolts but are not longer touching the fenders. I think this is causing the contact of the hood and body.

Anyone else seen this before?? If so, how did you fix it?

It seems the easiet way would be to remove the hinges and straigten them and reattach to the fender using bolts and washers.

also if someone has a pic they can post of the hinge properly attached to the fender, I would greatly appreciate it. It would even be better if it was a pic from a gladiator truck.
