    Best Chain for 1339 ? 2wheel kit? Dana 18?

I have red plenty of threads about Chains, What is the best chain to buy so it will last.

Is the 2wheel drive kit really worth it? I only drive my Jeeps 2000 miles a year.

Since I have a 1339, I can only swap a Dana 18 because of the driveline, Is it just better to swap everything to a Dana 18.

I don't mind spending the money to do it right.

    Sorry for all the questions

Part time kit isn't necessary unless ur trying to replace somthing broken. I believe bjs sells good quality chains now. The quadra-trac is a good system if maintained properly. Make sure your chain is in good shape and use the correct fluid and you should be good

I went with the mile marker kit and love it. It does save on gas and driveline parts. As far as the chain, i did have the shop use the bj chain and it hasn't quit yet in eight years of street driving. I haven't put it to hard off road use, yet.

        Well

If your looking for a final solution look at Atlas. Much $ but a final part time solution. Your not going to make a big dent in mileage going part time. The Borg Warner systems are getting hard to find parts for besides chains. Even the new parts don't substitute for 30 year old other parts you can't find. A mile marker part time kit hasn't been made in about 20 years. The chains sold 7 years ago were Morse & the best they have been impossible to find for a while. The Chinese versions don't live up to the Morse line.
OR with Novak adapters you can do a d 300

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

I put a MM part time kit in my jeep Wagoneer.
Personally it is kinda cool for doing burn outs, but I would not do it again. The Full Time Quadratrac is a great TC. It works so well in the rain and snow.

I did not see any real difference in mileage either.
(Ristow)fram!....that deserves a ratchet upside the head.

Any easy swap is to change to Dana 20. Just need to find a T400/D20 donor set up.

I find it hard to believe anyone is getting better mileage out of a MM PT kit. We ran one for a few months and did not like it. This kit has a weakness in the 4wd coupler just like the stock differential has it's own weakness.

If MileMarker quit making PT kits 20 years ago how is it BJs Offroad is still selling kits?

I have a test chain from BJs. It is made by Ramsay in USA. It has 13,000 miles on it. It had 5/16" slack when I installed it and 5/8" slack in it at 10,000 miles. So far so good.

For newbies & folks that don't know

Flint is the consummate specialist. there are no new Mile Markers. Added mileage is myth.

              He's the Quadratrac man.
