Curious why anyone would go to in-tank. When/if the pump fails it's a much bigger job to replace.....?

How often do in-tank pumps fail though? Experience tells me they're a whole lot more reliable, at least OEM models.

All that fuel surrounding the pump keeps them cool, making them last longer.

Sorta. I used a piece of 1/2" stainless tube to mount the pump to so it wouldn't move. I measures with a measuring tape. I also used short piece of #10 threaded rod, a thick fuel resistant o-ring, two nylon washers and regular nuts and lock washers to get power to the pump. You only need to run one wire through the disk as the whole disk is ground and should already have a ground lug on it. I wish I had taken picks.
