    New Addition - 69 Gladiator - *** pics added on pg 2 ***

    *** UPDATE - ADDED A BUNCH OF PICS ON PAGE 2 ***

    I have owned and DD'd a 78 Wagoneer for the last 3 or so years. I love that old Wagon. Recently I got the bug for a Rhino conversion which converted to a Gladiator bug. Saturday afternoon I found my deal.

    69 J3000, 3rd owner, now rust and pretty Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley clean all over.

    I know the post 74 Wagoneers and Cherokees fairly well from experience but don't have any experience with the Buick Dauntless era or the Gladiator. I was very surprised to see that it was already SOA. Is that standard on the older rigs or not. It doesn't appear to be overly high and I was planning on SOAing it anyway.

    Long term is going to be a little lift, 9.00 X 16 mud tires on steel wheels and stock Jeep moons and beauty rings.

    I am also curious about the seats. They are buckets with a fold down deal in the middle. Was this a regular option or are they transplants?

    For some reason I am unable to post pictures so I will figure that out and get a few shots of both the Wagoneer and the Gladiator in a day or two.

      To answer a couple of your questions;
      Yes, it was SOA front and rear from the factory.
      Yes, it could have been optioned with bucket seats and a fold down center seat/armrest.

      Sounds like you found a sweet truck! Can't wait to see some pics.

                  Here is the rest of my (Jeep) fleet:

                  My Baby - 78 401, 4" Springs, Posi rear, now has 33X10.50 BFG Muds and a Warn 9.5 XP winch. Due for new carpet and a new motor this spring.

                  My brother and I own Buckstop Truckware ( www.buckstop.biz) and manufacture winch bumpers for trucks. We were playing around with concept bumpers on the Wagoneer - looked like this:

                  Never fell in love with the bumper so I am still running the old Warn Classic.

                  Last but not least the old CJ - nothing special, 302 Ford and 4 speed. Got it at the right price.
