How to quiet a glaspack?
Can a glaspack be muffled/quieted? Just got a new neighbor and they complained about the XJ which led to a ticket, the J10 is just about as loud aslo with a glaspack.
My question is can I make the exhaust quieter without removing the glaspack itself?
I was thinking about taking some threaded rod with plates on it at odd angles so the exhaust gas doesn't have a straight shot at the outlet and inserting it into the glaspack so when I want loud I can have it, when I want quiet I have quiet. Would this work? Anybody else try something similar/different with results?

If they're old glass paks they're prolly empty now. I've never done it to a car muffler but have stuffed HD straight pipes full of steel wool and temporarily put baffles in(keeps it from blowing back out) to get through inspections. Temporary fix at best though...stuff burns out quick.
If your neighbor is being pissy anything minor you do prolly won't be enough for him though. The wool may get you through an inspection though if you're fighting the ticket. Stuff it in just before you get to the cop shop. but odds are slim. Mufflers are a lot bigger than MC pipes and this cheap foreign steel wool ain't like the old stuff. Good luck.

Sounds like you need to silence the new neighbor. I'd start by borrowing a shovel...

Man, I'd hate to live in your neighborhood! I don't own a car or truck that could be considered "quiet"! About all you can do is replace your muffler with something more quiet. The cheapy Turbo style mufflers at parts stores would be a good replacemant. Still give you good flow, and will be much more quiet.

its funny how people can move into your neighbor hood and demand you change..."I was here first"
itd be different if you moved into there neighbor hood with your loud pipes, but they moved into yours.

X2, especially that he/she did not come and talk to you first about the noise before calling the police.
