Park lights will not blink with running lights on

1980 J10. New front park / turn signal lights from BJ's.

All lights work correctly with no running lights on, when I pull on the Park lights, or headlights, the front amber park / turn signal lights will light but not blink. The fender amber lights will blink as will the rear lights. Replaced the flasher, no difference.

All wiring is original, I stripped the wire loom and tape, inspected all wiring, repaired one place out of the complete wiring harness that looked a bit bad, and reinstalled.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

      Hello Pyro,

The fender lights would not have to flash to be road legal, but the front amber lights need to.

It has to be something simple, wrong bulb? missing ground. I am sure someone here has had the same situation.

All help will be appreciated by both of us!

ok, chk wiring and proper bulb insertion.

power for the signal is grounding thru the park lite circuit.

when the signal circuit is 'on' the ground is there, but when park lites come on, the ground is removed and the flashing stops.

kinda like when you have the hazards on and step on the brake, the hazrads light but dont blink.

I repaired the lighting problem today.

I had installed new reproduction front amber park lights from BJ's.
They must have been wired wrong, both bulbs filaments seemed to be burning all the time.

I cleaned up the origional pig tails and socket, with the new bulbs, and all worked as it was suppose to.

          Thanks for your help!
