Allowing timing control takes full advantage of EFI.
The computer can adjust based on sensor inputs.
Allows for fine tuning that a traditional setup just cannot do.
You can also tweak/tune from drivers seat w/o even opening the hood.
I know about being able to adjust & tune, but what are the end benefits of doing so? What are the actual effects on daily driving?
That one will NOT fit, just like any other engine part that isn't AMC.
Far as benefits? The standard setup is a fixed setup with only vacuum advance based on engine load, and centrifugal mechanical advance.
Utilizing timing control allows precise adjustments based off multiple sensors.
The computer can optimize/adjust almost instantaneously.
For example you can add a little advance for hwy cruising, and combined with AFR/fuel adjustments tweak it for better MPG.
You can setup the timing curve to replicate a ported vacuum type setup, or a manifold vacuum type setup.
A standard setup obliviously doesn't change based off real time engine/driving conditions. It is what it is, and while it works just fine if setup correctly, it is a compromise. Just like a carburetor.
I contacted Holley. They said it works. Below is the text of the email I received
Well if you had a Chrysler 360 yeah it would, but it WILL NOT work for an AMC.
But by all means what's $465 for a doorstopper you can proudly chock your wheels with a smile.

Good luck even getting that in the dist hole. If it did fit it would tear up your cam gear or worse. That's for a Chrysler 360. You have an amc 360. Not the same engine at all
I went looking for the same thing, a dual sync to use with the Sniper Efi and I have the same JASON G at holley telling me this well work. I don't believe him, I want to believe him, but I think he believes the AMC 360 and Chrysler 360 are the same engine, which we know they are far far from, not even close.....

I went a different route and just bought a new HEI distributor; it does not control timing. However, with the HEI distributor and Sniper installed, it is unbelievable how smooth and quiet the jeep idles.
