First Time Towing with the girl

This weekend will be the first time I am towing with my FSJ. 21' ski boat. Tandem trailer. Anything I should know, tips, pointers.

I had to put a temp strap on passenger mirror on so i could see what the heck was happening on that side.

Bring a spare tire with you!!!!!!! I was foolish enough to not have one till one was provided to us. Blew out doing almost 70 coming home from ECI. I stayed awake after that.

Well I didnt make it (puilling with the FSJ that is). With 4000# boat and trailer, 600# of gear and gas, 400# of person and dog going up a very steep incline, Floyd pass and berthoud pass. It was just too much. I didnt even attempt to rev it crazy that all the way up cuz i didnt want to kill it. so i stopped part the way up and rented a uhaul F150 to pull and I know the Jeep is ok with just the gear, its done it quite a few times. (Ouray) Think the old girl needs a 3.73 gear to pull a heavy boat.

Yes I did bring a spare. LOL My wife wouldnt even go unless i had one. She went thru that nightmare.

Plus if I blew it up I would miss Ouray. No way Jose!

Need another tow vehicle in place of my 300000 mile Montero (kinda worthless). Expedition prolly.

Well that is stupid. Seems kinda low. driving accross Kansas at 65 max would stink. or nebraska. or down the mountain since everyone is goin 80. oh well gotta slow down i guess.
