Rims
Hi,
Does a 8x15 with -19mm offset fit with 33x12,5 on a Chief ?
-19mm offset means 3.75" backspace
Thanks in Advance

I'm running 4.5" backspacing on 8"x 16" rims with 34" tires on my J-10. I also have a 4" Hell Creek lift.

You also have a 1” lift when compared to the Cherokee. Truck frames are designed to set the bodies higher than the Wagoneer/Cherokee frames.

found a offer of original grand wagoneer 5 slot alu wheels
They are 15x7", not 15x8 as the guy told me.
the Backspace is 3".
I am undeciced, but i think 7" is to small for the 33x12.5 i will mount.

I know that size rim looks good with a 31 10.50 tire,...
but I am sure you are correct about the size of tire you intend to use.
keep us updated on final choice and result.

7" is too narrow for a 12.50" tire. From what I'm reading, 12.50" tires should be mounted to 8.5 to 10" wheels, but obviously 8" will work since it's been done successfully for decades.
Concerning backspacing, the 1979 J10 I purchased earlier this year came with 33x12.50 tires on 15x8" steel wheels with 3.75"/19mm backspacing. The rear tires were very close to the leaf springs, so close that I couldn't get my hand between them. There were rub marks on the rear portion of the passenger spring since the axle isn't perfectly perpendicular to the leaf springs. This probably happened during higher speed cornering when the tire flexed.
I bought a pair of .250" Baer Brake spacers for the rear and now I don't have any clearance concerns. I wish the previous owner had bought 15x8" wheels with 3.50" backspacing for all four tires instead.

I have the stock five slot rims on my '79 wag. After upgrading the front and rear brakes I'm thinking the 15" rims are a little small.
