Dana 44 trac lok identification Too wide?
hi,
I have 73 dana 44 narrow trac out of cj that I am trying to put in a trac-lok(light duty use).The problem I have that the trac loc I have is too wide to fit in the housing.The axles fit/30 spline.Shims for open carrier are under bearing the trac loc has the shims outside the cups.Part numbers on the carrier for the trac loc are 74385 x0 6 25 98.I am assuming that is a 99 model year trac loc but from what?Do they make different dana 44 housings?I thought the internals other than a front diff were all the same.Any help would greatly appreciated.
