    1978 Fuel filler hoses, source???

    Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can get the larger rubber hoses that go to the gas tank on my 1978 gas tank?

I think there are three. Two go to the filler area (not sure why there should be 2). One smaller one seems to go to the front of the vehicle.

    Does anyone know?

    Hi,

since it is hard to impossible to find original rubber hoses (at least here in Germany), I searched the internet for shops with boating equipment. They offer all kinds of gasoline grade rubber hoses with many different diameters, and you can specify the length you want. I bought mine a little longer than original because these hoses are of course not pre-bent/formed and that gave me the flexibility to easily route them where they had to go.

There is one hose at least (the big one if I remember right), where the original inside diameter is not equal at both ends, but I managed to get it on using some heat on the more tight side, the difference is not too large. All in all worked great for me and I now have industrial grade hoses, which should last for a long time again.

    Hope this helps,
    Alex
