Looking for help - 79 J10 door lock cylinders

Hello all. I've got a question about replacing the door lock cylinders in my 79 J10. Have looked through the threads but don't see the answer I need.

I ordered new cylinders since mine didn't come with door keys when I bought it. I tore apart the door today to replace, and the rod from the new cylinder is too long. Is this the wrong part or am I supposed to trim down the new one?

The short one is the one I took out. The long one sticks outside the door when I put it in.

Where can I get the correct cylinders? Or how do I trim down the long ones?

    Thanks!

The rods on the cylinders come long from the supplier. All you have to do is cut them to the same length your current ones are. Measure up the short rods and use an angle grinder or hacksaw to make the cuts.
