For the old tiimers...Do any of you remember J10Mike from St. Louis? Mike had a very nice J10 Stepside and was one of the fist ones to convert to rear disc brakes. Mike is still very active with building rides. He just switched over to '70s Dodge Ramchargers. Of course Mike could not let well enough alone and put a 4BT in the Ramcharger.
He's a good guy. When Mike was getting out of FSJs, I picked up his spare rebuilt 208 for my 88.
I met Doc and Timex once when I lived in FL. Wanna say 98 or 99? The bottomless transfer case!
whats a bottomless transfer case? just never heard of this.. The guy I got the truck from cut the frame down to 112 inch wheel base. painted the truck orange and put f250 axles under it.44 front, 60 rear.
OK, I remember seeing a picture of it after the orange paint. Doc had the NP208 explode the bottom out. I think it was chain related. He continued to drive it for a good while. Post pictures when you can please.
oh, ok. ive been under the truck, but its been a long time. pretty sure the transfer case is good. truck has been sitting for about six years. ill have to work on how to post pics. im working on my late wifes J20 right now to make it road worthy. it was her project jeep, but she got sick and I lost her 5 1/2 years ago. Soooooo, time to get it on the road so I can enjoy it.. Plan on getting timex running after that.
