81 Cherokee

I write this post of shame. I was planning on putting new fuel lines on my gas tank, the four small ones, not the fill. This was almost three years ago. I can not get a photo to load

Two at the sender , then two more. And what did you use to turn the large nut on the sending unit?

The two at the sender are the supply and return. What are the other two?

I thought one may have been to a missing emission canister of some sort.
What about the sending unit large nut? What is used to span it ?

While I don't have an '80-up to speak from experience, it looks like your fuel sender features a big plastic hex retainer like this.

If you don't have an appropriately sized wrench, some channel locks or even a pipe wrench should be able to grab the nut without doing too much damage. As a last resort, tap it out with a punch or screwdriver. Should the part get messed up, they are replaceable for $5-10.

Most of the '82 TSM is online here - https://oljeep.com/edge_parts_man.html - the fuel system of an '82 is comparable to an '80. Suggest you look at figures 1J-5, 1J-7 and 1J-13.

The TSM will help you a lot. You can buy a CD-ROM version from RockAuto for less than $25 - dirt cheap considering how much it will help. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...179457&jsn=371
