Body Swap
Back to playing with an idea (like I need more projects) Has anyone swapped a NT 2 door Cherokee onto another non-jeep, non 4x4 frame and drive train? I forgot who in here has a drag Cherokee, love it! but that is a WT. Could even be something with a shorter wheel base if needed.
thanks for the input.

Have thought about this too... I think I TJ chassis would be a good candidate. Track is 58.5
Its very easy to extend those.. have done that before.
Keep us posted !!

The only difference between a WT and a NT body is the flares and wheel well openings. That drag Cherokee sits on a C10 chassis. If a WT body fits on it, a NT will too.

right rang-a-stang bodies are the same. maybe need to go through that post and see how he mounted it or cut the frame. What i would really live to do is find a FSJ non 4x4 front axle!

Maybe a Crown Vickie frame? I know the Ford guys use them for everything, they are all over the wrecking yards, and they are front engine, rear wheel drive, 4 wheel discs, 8.8 inch rear

Might look for old beam axle from a 50's truck, would be the easiest if keeping the leaf springs. Don't know about width.
Another option would be to graft in the front frame section from an "A" arm or torsion bar C-10. Stay away from the newer ones, they are hydro formed and don't take well to welding. Not supposed to get them over 1200* on repairs or pulls.
