I'm installing the one out of my big CJ. I was going to put it under the Cherokee but the focus I have for that one is like the Bargain Beater project, simple and stock looking.
My plans changed since I saw that 4-door wide track at FSJ Ouray this year I really like it!! The Diesel will go into it as well and I plan to make it into a vehicle that can go as many places as the wifes Grand Cherokee.Jason in the Mountains

Well I have two options....I could use both the front and rear axles out of my 73' J4800 that is now going to have a new $50.00 Chevy Dually Dana 60, sorry I had to rub it in again. The axles from the J4800 are a front Chevy D44HD and a rear factory D60 and both have 4:10's and open differentials. Our use a extra D70HD axle I have out of a Ford E350 and then switch the D70 front that I have from drums to discs.
For now I'll go with the first option because it will be easiest during the lift and also until I get a few other projects finished.Jason in the Mountains

Glad you saved the Watermelon Wagon Dude those rims are killer! Score!
Personally, since you already have a lifted monster, keep it low and strong for moving stuff around. The reason FSJ trucks were low to begin with is that they were designed for worksite duty...that's why the clearance underneath is so beautiful with no parts under the frame rail. 3/4 ton conversion sounds wise..
(one) of Steves biggest gripes with his lifted J10 was the fact he couldn't get at anything in the bed when camping..lifted sky high trucks are great for wheeling..not so much for utility.1979 Chero S "Sundog" 1979 Chero S "Hammer"

This is the axle I going to use in the front, it's from a 69 Dodge W300 and its a DANA 70'S
The pictures don't do this axle justice, so I put a 1/2 Ford 9-inch in the picture.
Then the axle tubes are monsterous!!! That's my size 10 work boot on it for conparison.
Since after market axle outers "C's" are becoming a little cheaper, one option is to cut the closed knuckles off and install some open 1410 U-joint knuckles. However swapping the drums to discs would be cheaper using the uglytrucking kit. So I don't know which way I'll go. Of course if I found a good core D60 somewhere that has a bad center section but good outers.Jason in the Mountains

That's a good point however my J4800 that had almost 7" of lift and 255/85/16's in this picture.......
Even though the flat bed was a little lower than a stock bed is I don't think it changed how useful it was. I do agree I love how low the J10 is now the few times I've used it but I do want it at least eye to eye with a stock Ford high boy.Jason in the Mountains
