Seat Recomendations

My seats are worn out and the estimate to refoam and replace is something like $1400. I know I can get aftermarket seats for much less But are they comfortable?

I need comfy seats for an old guy. Wide, not deep buckets or high side bolsters. Comfy.

I can make brackets so that is not an issue.

What can you guys suggest?

Thanks.....

Try Used

I bought a nice used set on eBay for around $500. I checked almost daily and eventually found same style and color as original.

People on here have used grand cherokee seats, and dodge dakota and Durango seats with good success. Minot modifications. Go to the junkyard. I found some very nice seats out of a 2001 Lincoln LS, they were perfect color and in great shape. But they were a bear to modify. I don't recommend them they are great now that it's done, but there are lots easier ones out there.

I just got some from a swap meet. Vendor sells second row van seats from vans converted for handicap drivers. Mine came from a Honda Odyssey.

They were brand new leather, $250 for the two buckets and the center console. Can't beat the price. I made two brackets for each and mounted them to my Jeep power bases.

Had the wife with me to make sure they were comfortable. That was the first consideration. I took a color I wasn't completely happy with because they were comfortable. You can see them on the "Building a Road Trip" thread.

If after looking you are interested, drop me a PM and I'll get you Adolpho's phone number so you can see if he will be in your area. For the price, you could drive a ways to get them.

THanks. I am having a hard time finding used seats that are not ether worn out or way expensive. I was thinking of a new aftermarket seat.

I didn't think about a conversion place. We have a few in Jacksonville that do vans.

Appreciate the suggestions.

If you can build the brackets I have power leather from a 98 ZJ in my waggy. They are very comfortable. Went on a 10hr round trip with a buddy that has back problems and he couldn't believe he came out of it with no back pain.

If you are looking new I like Corbeau seats...pricey but they have a bunch of different styles. I'm going to put the baja rs seats in my cherokee.
