I would look for a J20 box.

Ive looked for them. Havent found an oring style yet. Ill drill and tap it for hydro assist so Im thinking it really wont matter as much as the hydraulic pump would.

Love the M715's. Awesome project. Love to see it getting done right and in style. Your seats are very cool and look like they cost a pretty penny.

test fit

Everyone says how tight the 6B is in a Jeep. Well I dont think this applies to the 715 at least. Mockup gave 2 inches from the rear of the engine block to the fire wall. Once the original radiator supports are cut, I have 10 inches, minus 2.5 for the electric fan for the radiator and intercooler, that was about the same in the 95 ram I pulled this from!

The truck is off of 640. I would love to meet some of the fellow FSJers here but I cant get the truck out until the drivetrain swap is done. My friend and I are doing the build and he is looking at Cummins conversion swap kits for us Jeep nuts.

He has had his mounts and stuff ripped off by some big and respected 4x4 companies so out of respect for his business and paycheck, I will not have the truck out until it is roadworthy. He is a good friend of mine and want ot protect him....not that this is a bad crowd but he has been burned too many times and I wont jeopardize what he does or make him feel uncomfortable.

When its done....we can have a drool fest and swap stories, go for trail rides, talk Cummins conversions (I have had a 4B swap in a J10 as well) to our hearts content.

Thanks to all who have followed this build with excitiment. I am doing this as it is my dream build but it helps to be appreciated by everyone else here!

Ill update as much as I can. Hopefully Summer will be filled with black smoke dreams with the locals. I do travel quite a bit to Nashville, Memphis, Birminham AL, and Lake Keowee SC, Cincinatti, OH. If anyone is along the way, Im always game for talking shop to break the trips up!

Well Ive got some updates to share. After the motor was fit in and the motor mounts were made, I took a grinder to the remaining rough edges and brackets. Then I applies a rust preventative coating and shot the frame in flat black.

I got the motor tore down for the go fast goodies. Here is the said victim

First thing was to remove everything off the top to take off the cylinder head.

I was very encouraged by what I found. 167,xxx miles

The head had no crack or hot spots, nor did the head gasket. Once the head was off, I put it in the head rotissarie my friend made to drop the valves, springs, etc. The head is getting o ringed to handle the extra boost.

Nest was to take off the timing cover and check and inspect the camshaft retaining bolts and killer dowel pin (kdp). The camshart retainer we fine. The KDP

The small dowel next to the bolt alignes to block and houing during assembly. These steel pins can walk out and drop in the geartrain causing the cam to break, ruin the injection pump, and all kinds of wonderful damage. Had I kept the motor in the Dodge much longer, I wouldnt have a motor. So I took a punch, drove it back in. You fix these by removing the bolt next to it, and placing a tab which is secured by the bolt and covers the hole. $3 part that can save $$$$$$$. This dowel was more than halfway out!
Back in

And tabbed

Currently the frame was sleeved for the front shackle reversal. The head is at the shop. I notched the ford D60 webbing for theU bolt. Need to find my camera charger. The camera stays charged so long, I dont remember the last time or place I charged it haha.
