smoke from the block???

At the risk of pointing out the obvious (my limited mech knowledge) I was wondering how common is it for the wagon to have smoke coming out of the oil filler and filling the air cleaner even after only a short ride. The smoke dissipates fairly quick but at first it is an attention getter. thinking of plugging the connection at the top of the oil cap that leads to the air cleaner, just wondering if this is common or a sign of a bigger issue.

may help to know that I recently rerouted my vacuum lines off manifold rather than ported and plugged the CTO's and EGR. still need to readjust my timing but got distracted by the smoke after a short test run.

To me...

It sounds like blow by...

First thing I would check is your PVC valve and hoses and make sure they are clear.

I think one end is bigger than the other and you can decide based on that. I'll let someone else give you a more knowledgeable/less gross answer...

If you don't mind putting your mouth on it, blow through one end. If the air goes through, that is the crankcase side
