Start at radiator cap
Every one I looked at would have the usual work up for a 25 year old vehicle, tranny mount, seals and every soft and flex part are suspect, JEEPS (Just Empty Every Pocket, Son) are a hobby or an obsession, your choice, I personally write off $150 a month budget as a daily driver for all my vehicles. If I stay under that, I buy the parts I want. My Brother in Law spends that on each of his horses, so I can justify my expenses, In my mind anyway.
Good Hunting,
Will

Rocky, I have some stuff here still that may be of some good to you as I'm going to sell my 76 Cherokee and focus on my 69 truck. I won't need anymore of my later model parts.

jeepN25, where did you happen upon a chief? I always have an eye out. Its not like I need another project though. Actually go pick up my 4.6 stroker from the machine shop today and start the assembly. Did our panhandle group ever try to meet up?

ummm im not sure if they ever did or not... i pretty much fell into a black hole for the last long while lol. Anyway, back out of it, stilll busy as hell, but now i have another jeep to work on =D
So yes, I found this cherokee in Navarre. This guy really wanted to sell it, so I did a barter and some cash. His main concern was to get rid of it. I'll post pics later - I now am going to swap the lift from my truck over to the cherokee, and get it running good. It needs either a new carb, but I think I may just put on an eld/hol... The transmission and xfer case may need some work, but not sure.. Oh and I will be doing a rewire - perhaps one of the kits from EZ wiring?
I am looking foward to a wheel - the furthest I can go (for now cash/time/gas... )will be eglin - of course I will need to take the class/get the permit, but hey, maybe I can go camping too!.. mmm beer... lol. Anyway, this jeep will be set up so I can take the family with if i'd like too - not to mention, it WILL have AC, once I get it set up (it is so Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley hot here in FL in the summer, I am still not used to it... Maybe I can fit a big house sized AC into the back ? lol. Looking foward to this build -got some motivation from the guy doing the AMAZING rebuild on his cherokee yesterday (wish i could remember his nameto give him credit). Though I wont be going as far in depth (yet?), nor do my pockets run as deep(yet). we should set something up befor it gets too hot... Ill be rebuilding my carb and setting up the cherokee in the mean time.

Do you have the T5 behind it? That Stroker and a 5 speed would be an awesome set up

naw, I would love to have a 5 speed but for right now, I am making modifications to my T176 bellhousing for the CPS and plan on keeping it. I would really love to get a newer 5 speed out of the 2000 and up jeep because I believe my NP208 will bolt right up to it.

I got my GW!!!
Now i just have to add lights to the dog house, I'm so far back in there, I have to be fed by a slinshot . I got it local, 90, windows, a/c works, so does vacuum on 4w/d. Melvin at Happy Trails did the check out, cleaned up wiring under hood and replaced p/s pully so I'm into it at $1300
I have to let something go because 8 is the Queens limit, so BERTHA (3500 6.5TD, 4w\d crew dually l\b) needs a new home. Pity because after replacing Head Gaskets, Injectors, Glow Plugs, S-belt & hoses it can pull about anything. Hoping to make 1k over parts, or I'll part it out, Son wants rear end for 'Mudder in Law' with a set of super singles. Arg.
Going to miss the Family Reunion in Perry this weekend. Last year was my first mud bogg, and I met several IFSJA'ers there. What a BLAST!! I just finished patching the camo on the 'Ole Mule', tore it up playing rescue rangers. at least this time I didn't break off mirrors. I was the Second call, and had to pull out the first call first.

Heads up to anyone in/around the Pensacola area. There is a 1990 Grand Wagoneer at Kikers U-pull it on Fairfield. Still has the rear axle (Unknown gear ratio), a lot of the dash (dash pad was in pretty good shape) and other various odds and ends. There was also an AMC 360 with a manual transmission bellhousing on the ground nearby. It had an Edelbrock intake manifold on it too. Worth the $1 admission to check out

yep, saw em there. The seats in the gwag had to be nice, the fronts are gone and the rear looked real good. I wanted the right fender and front valence but some whoya cut a chunk out of the valence and looks like took a can opener to the lower bottom corner of the fender.
Saw the 360 with the intake, it's still there? Need to look at the that tranny closer. hopefully its not a T4 or T5, those were crap.

Don't go looking for the rear seat, I took that home with me. Rust ate the rear fenders too. Not sure on the tranny that was on the 360

you got a good rear seat then. Yea, saw that rust, but the fender and front valence were great, till those cuts.

JAX, Club Mud Truck show on Saturday
Broke my heart about not taking the Ole Mule to JEEP BEACH @ Daytona, but meeting Muddy buddies for truck show at Ramona Flea market near I-10 & I-295 in Jacksonville. Wired shower pump and mounted speakers to rollbar. I'll probably wear my Kilt for effect. Some kind of fundraiser I think.
