Is it possible to change the float on an 82 J10,without dropping the tank?? What size wrench will take the float out??

You could remove the bed. Other than that or cutting a hole in the bed floor, you're dropping the tank.-Jonny B.

It is front mounted. So there is enough room to get that big retainer nut out and remove the sending unit?? What can I use on that nut?? Would a big pair of channel locks do it? Im assuming there is enough room to slide the wrench in between the cross member and the tank?
