    Looking @ TBI

    Which route to go?
    GM TBI pieces or
What makes most since for ease of tuning and reliablity.
On board flash best for programming and tuning or burning and replacing chips.

    Venturing into Spray

Even if I find a FAC GM ECU like the
1227747 with BCC for V8 does the Trans - Manual or Auto matter?

As far as burning and replacing chips, that's a 2 minute affair if you're slow. It's not as hard or tedious as it used to be in "the old days". So I wouldn't let that worry you.

Maybe I'll have to do a sticky for the pro's and cons of each "system".

If you have more money than time, get either a Howell or AFI (Affordable Fuel Injection) system. Do you need to pass emissions? I don't know where in CO you live. Even if you don't right now, consider it for the future!

If you have more time than money AND are comfortable with a computer (Running programs from a command line doesn't scare you), a homebrew system or combination thereof is worth a look.

I dont know about Co., but Howel is the only one with a certification. You should check with your sniffer.

True. And lucky for the OP, the certification goes up to 1981.

Many guys have had their GM conversions passed thru inspection.
If you only have emissions then there is no problem. If the EFI is properly installed and even halfway tuned it will pass.
If like Calif, you have a visual inspection then it's best to talk to the inspection shop prior to making the swap.
You may just have to keep some of the original stuff bolted on so it still looks stock. Like the canister and EGR.
I have heard about a couple places that even recommend a specific starting bin from a heavy truck so the emission requirements were lower.

The inspector is the one that determines how much of a pain he wants it to be. But in most states other then Calif there hasn't really been much problem. Even in calif, many guys have gotten their passed just by planning ahead and talking to them.

Starting to hear nothing but god things about the Howell TBI System as I venture into the possiblities.
