I am concerned as I changed the transfer case oil 2 days ago for my first time. I put in the special oil that I got from Chrysler.
After draining I put my finger into the hole and found a 3mm piece of metal. Then looking at the oil container noticed metal flakes. I pumped through a little more fluid to wash out what I could.
Everything seems to be working great with my case, but short of tearing out the case I thought if I pick up a magnetic plug it could clean it up?
Anyone know what size of plug and threads so that I can begin trying to hunt one down? As well I guess I should get one for the oil pan too? Neither have them at the moment.
Thanks Sgt Rock

Don't know about the transfercase plug, but I got a magnetized oil drain plug at Napa. I think it was a few dollars at most. I don't remember the part number.
