A while ago when I stripped the hardware of the core support, the plastic inserts that the hood bumpers, or stops, screw into cracked. 32 years was just too much. I hadn't really though about it since then. But I have a fix. The bad part is that the headlight assembly has to be taken out because you need to get to the underside of the top. I went to ACE and got two 5/16-18 caged nuts and put them in from the bottom. Sorry for bad pics, too much light from the wrong direction.
Then all you need is a flat washer and a lock nut.
Once it is tight, it doesn't wiggle.
