    '69 J3000 CV joint

Anybody know the manufacturer of CV joints used in '68 & '69 and are rebuild parts available? I've got a bad ball and seat. Spicer typically has some identifier on parts including their name. The only thing I see is: 22182J-D2, UA & F in the ball/t-case end of the joint behind the U-joint.

Do you mean u-joints? I've bought mine on rockauto.com. Those kind of parts are pretty easy to find on their website.

No. I mean double cardan CV joint. Some '68's and '69's used them. Doesn't seem like they were very common. The U-joints for them are available, however there is no manufacturers ID on any of the CV joint pieces. I'm looking for the ball, seat and seal.

Sorry, trying to help but admittedly my knowledge is mostly limited to my own truck. My parts manual does show what you're talking about, refers to it as the "Detroit" propeller shaft.

Should be pretty common. Pretty much every FSJ from 66-91 used a front shaft with a CV joint at the t-case end. I'd call a local shop that handles axle/drive shaft work. I'd be surprised if they couldn't order it all up.

I bought my parts from Rockauto a couple of years back when we could still have thing sent to Australia.

There is a parts book here with informative drawings of driveshafts, IIRC. https://oljeep.com/edge_parts_man.html Can't look right now ... I can help later if you have trouble.

I can't imagine it's any different than the one on my 1972, and all the parts to rebuild it (two universal joints and the centering ball) came from Napa about eight years ago. The store used a book for finding parts back then and it worked.

I love how arguements end as soon as Ristow comments. Ristow is right...again.
