    Bringing home the CJ project

About a week ago I made trek about 75 miles north to Russellville to retrieve a project I started years ago and hope to get some progress showing soon. See pics below:
CJ5 rolling chassis towed by J20 050920 by Jim Coutts, on Flickr
CJ5 stripped 050920 by Jim Coutts, on Flickr
CJ5 side 050920 by Jim Coutts, on FlickrCJ5 inside tub 050920 by Jim Coutts, on Flickr
It has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager and a neighbor had a surplus M38-A1 shell in the yard to build a CJ from the ground up. Some things just take a while!

    '86 CJ7 Doesn't need anything(so why do I have it?)
Correction- it just needed a water pump!

      Looking good!

I'm wondering how many full-size Jeep owners have a CJ or CJ project!?

I'm having a 80 cj5 project for more than ten years

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.

Looks like a great project! I love CJ's. Thats what got me into all jeeps. I have a 69 highly modified (=money pit) CJ-5. Had it 38 years now. 79 was a great year for them. Very good frames in that era. Looking forward to more.

Not yet but I plan to buy one for a rat rod style project after the Cherokee is done.

                    Ssst don't tell him

I got my CJ project just after i got my j4000 complete and ready for daily driving.
Thirteen years later my j4000 is done and ready for a complete overhaul.
And the CJ is still a project in pieces

He actually had a part in my acquiring the J20 years ago. It has original red paint! The CJ does not, it was a white Renegade with blue stripes. I picked the color to match the Chevy I was driving when I had it painted.
