    Let's talk dates!

It's about that time, last year did not happen. We cannot let that be the case this year. As most of you know we shoot for the end of October. I am open for any date as for now, so it's up to the group! Whatever we do I am coming for the week.

How about we try to avoid the very last week (29-02)?
That gets us away from halloween and some kid/family related commitments.
The week before (21-25) or a chunk of it with the weekend looks wide open to me.

Yep a week for sure, too long of a drive to only wheel a few days. Now that does not mean the event needs to be a week long, lol! I'm in for Warpath....

Was looking at our new school calandar for next year and some things have moved around a bit so I'll toss this out.

If anyone is thinking the 1st week in October that's a good fit also. High's in the mid 80's, lows around 60.

That's socorro Sam, warpath is at caballo.

From what I have seen, warpath is the top part of what we call apache gap. The road crosses the wash a few times and gets harder and harder as you go up. The last mile is warpath. I'll watch for that last mile , the bottom part of the trail is doable for most of our rigs and you can take the long trail to palomas for some nice scenery. Camping is available at caballo lake or at percha dam.

There is also some good wheeling (moderate to hard, not extreme) in the area in Green Canyon. So this could be a two day adventure.

i think patz, rocotillo, tabascotwister and habenero falls are hard enough for this group!
also maybe we should see if we can get a guide and do broad canyon this year????

About 3 weeks ago I had just finished putting all the GPS way points from http://nm4w.org/WEBEJEEPIN/Trails/Ne.../Trails_NM.htm into google earth and connecting it to Off Broadway where Em and I took that little loop to the east at the beginning of the hard stuff.

                              Then...
I got a new 'puter image pushed at work and lost everything on the desktop.

It looks doable, the only part I had trouble with was the correct entrance to Broad Canyon since we know the one on their map is closed now, or was back in 2009 when we spent the afternoon on the hill to the north.
