Well I am rebuilding mine, and will be ordering the rebuild kit here in the next couple of days. So if you want, I guess I could send you my old one. Its should be just fine, I am rebuilding it just because I have no history on the mileage of this one. I figure I am rebuilding everything else, why not rebuild the 205.79 Cherokee Chief 401/T18/D20, MPFI fuel injection, hydroboost, otherwise stock.
Future mods: Caddy 500/NV4500/NP205, HP D60 front D60 smooth botom rear, 5.13 gears, 35x12.50's on H1 beadlock wheels. Warn M12000 winch.

I am trying to figure out if you guys ever decided that the ford 203 would bolt up to the 727. I have a ford 203 and 205 I could build a doubler with but I run the 727 tranny.Unclethumbtack

I was waiting for a measurement to figure the spline engagement which I had figured to be between 1-1.5" which should be enough. Can you get a pic with measurements of the Ford 203 to compare with this 229?

The ford 203 range box I have settin here measures about 1-1 1/8.79 Cherokee Chief 401/T18/D20, MPFI fuel injection, hydroboost, otherwise stock.

That would be 7/8" spline engagement, which is better than 3/4" engagement some setups will leave you. I'd go for it...Originally posted by JeepsAndGuns if you ever twist it all apart you can swap in a 32 spline 203 input and go with a TH400.

Yikes, that just does not sound like mutch. I never saw the transmission my 203 was bolted to (C6) but I am guessing that on it, the output stuck out past the tailhousing?

I believe it would have had to... with the 727 the output is about 1/4" inside the adaptor. I think it would actually be more important to have greater spline engagement after the range box.
