So I have a Dana 44 rear differential that I got from an IFSJA member way back, which has a rubber fill plug instead of the metal screw kind. Old one has hardened and is leaking and I'm trying to source the new one. Bought a Dorman one at Auzone that said it fit Chrysler/Dodge but was way too small.
Checked my old one with a vernier caliper, specs are:
1.1" inner diameter (1 1/8"?)
1.75" outer diameter
Tried googling these specs, but it doesn't bring up anything, because none of the fill plugs online mention any size specs! They all just list the years and makes of cars that they fit. A few of them mention the outside diameter, because that's really what's critical. I mean, why be logical?
So my question is, does anyone have this rubber fill plug, and know a P/N or source for it?
And I apologize, this is probably the dumbest thing I've ever asked for help on on here, but that's pretty much where I am with this. Should be the easiest thing in the world to replace a rubber fill plug on a major brand diff.
