    Golden eagle wheels

I just bought a 78 j10 golden eagle. It came with original wheels but needs tires.
Should I just clean them up and clear coat over rust
Or sand them down and repaint? (I would tape off the black line to the best of my ability)
Or get similar style aluminum wheels with new tires and just save original gold wheels?

all these questions are subjective to someones own opinion and taste
in other words,.....no right or wrong answer,.....

    please yourself,....

but I do know this,....if they are the O.E.M. steel rims
they are valuable, and not real easy to get.
and I prefer them over almost any rim on an FSJ

keep them in your possession for sure, whether you run them now or not.
( or sell them to an FSJ owner )

as you prob. know,...SUMMITT, etc,....do have a rim with "D" shaped holes,....that looks similar for a good low price.

    good luck with the j10
    sounds like a good find.

Spent a day and a half sanding, priming, paint, and clear coating. Came out pretty good. Didn't do the black stripe because I was afraid to butch it up.

I guess they are gold-tone steel wheels with a black pin stripe? If you have the means, have them media blasted and powder coated like the original color. A professional sign painter could put the stripe back.

Jeep CJ original wheels sandblasted and powder coated then the original black pinstripe applied.

I did my red stripes on my white wagon rims with vinyl

I cut a circular pin stripe the correct thickness,...

                used wet method application.

I do hand paint signs every now and then ( for fun )

but there are very few people left

that can paint a stripe as well as the guy in the youtube video.
