    front bumper wagoneer vs. j-10

    I think I goofed.

took a WARN bumper off my J-10 and sold to a member

bought a front bumper off 80's wagoneer

with intentions to put it on front of 76 j-10

I think I read recently that a narrow track wagoner bumper

will not work on a wide track j-10

    is this correct ?

An 80 Wag one piece bumper won't fit on a WT truck. An original AMC Pre 79(?) 3 piece wag front bumper can be disassembled and expanded using the existing bolt holes to fit a a WT.

      dang, I knew it,...

I like the look of the wagoner type bumpers with the big rubber bumper pads
and marchal fog lights like I had on my wagoner.

never liked the 3 piece bumpers.

I guess for that I need a front bumper off a 80 and up j truck that looks like the wagoner bumpers from late 80's,...correct ?

      thanx for the reply

79 was the first year of the one-piece front bumper. So 79-87 /J-10/20 or 79-83 WT Chero will be the proper width.

Keep in mind that the frame horns also changed in '79 with the switch to the one piece bumpers. You will have to fab up some brackets to mount the later bumper to your earlier frame.
