Has any seen or has anyone tried to mesh a Cherokee Chief with a Scout 800? Axles, engine, body, frames??
I know some scouts came with the 258 and maybe the 304
There's a Binder 304 (and 345 and 392) as I recall; not sure that the AMC 304 made it into a Scout. IHC put 2V 401s in Travelalls and pickups (?) for a couple years. I'd assume those were purchased as commodity engines from AMC, like the 258s would have been. Typically the Binder stuff is weird from a swap perspective.

Doesn't sound like a marriage made in heaven. I'd suspect for a WT Chero axle donor you'd be better off going Travelall rather than Scout if you had to. Scouts aren't exactly widetrack. Binder parts are even harder to find than FSJ parts and a lot more expensive. If your heart is set on building a mutt frankenjeep, I think I'd explore Chev Blazer donors.
im still tossing around the idea of a M715 I know of in the weeds and putting it on the Cherokee frame drive train. And take the Cherokee coptop body and put it on a Crown vic frame. Dude sold the 800 our from under me anyway. I hate those folks "whoever get here first with the cash gets it" even after we talked about me coming this afternoon...... oh well
Give me some time, still working on the 71 F 250 and finishing up on the 351W for the 83 Cherokee. I'm looking for a police one that has the better engine trannny and rear end for almost cheep.
