              Update

Finally took off the stock intake and mounted the used performer from eBay and the edelbrock 1405 from a fellow member and it runs a lot smother with Gobbs of power! Not sure how much seat of the pants hp but I can definitely feel a change it seems to breathe better and the 268h is awesome! Thanks Rick the engine now has about 500 miles and is kick A$$ !! The th400 I rebuilt with my two oldest boys seems to shift up and down with no issues so congrats to me!

So, a refresh with the 268H Comp Cam. One of my favorites for a 304 or 360.

I had to finish this one up before I could get to it though. A 401 with a Cross Ram and dual 600 Holleys. I put the small 280H cam in it and compression is at 9.5:1. All the wrong parts it seems to me to go under a Cross Ram but it is a street car application that just has to look cool. Amazingly enough, it runs like a top and takes all of the carburetion well. It doesn't put out as much power as a Torker with a single 4 barel does but cool it does look.

Do you have the timing set (hooked up to vac) in that sound bite? I have same cam and single 4bbl, but mine sounds like a kitty cat.

I can't remember but I think so. The idle was set pretty low and the mufflers are straight through which is why it might sound a little more aggressive.

Do you have headers or manifolds? Do you have a cat? I have a 268h going through headers, a single 3 inch exhaust, and a borla almost straight through muffler and it is pretty obnoxious.

Here is one that I am finishing up for a Jeep SCRAMBLER. It is a 8.5:1 360 with a 268H cam and Torker intake manifold. The 268H is really not a big cam compared to a stock 401 cam. It has more duration and a more narrow LSA.
                          Stock 401 Cam: 208/210 @ .050" .458" valve lift and 114 LSA
                          ComCam 268H: 214/214 @ .050" .456" valve lift and 110 LSA
                          Stock 360 Cam: 196/196 @ .050 .426" valve lift and 110.5 LSA

Just installed the summit racing brand CDI ignition box and it starts faster goes faster and sounds faster!

Going from the old ignition box to the cdi is a major difference I had already put the big cap and rotor on and the Jeep is utilizing the 268h to the max. Need to take a long drive one day and log in some mpgs. maybe I should look into the broken fuel gauge issue next.

                                Update

Summit racing cdi box was tested last week took a two hour drive just fine. I did pull the initial timing back a touch along the way tho.
