How to Fix Your Cargo Cover

For those of you who have cargo covers that won't roll up anymore, here's how to fix it:
<left and right = as if you were standing at the back of your truck looking into the cargo area>
    1) Roll the cargo cover up tightly.
    2) Remove it from the Jeep
3)Remove the right-hand end cap by pushing down on it until the pin appears. Remove the pin with needle nose pliers, hammer - whatever.
    4) Remove the small gray cap and spring from inside the cap end.
    5) Pull the left-hand cap just until the 2 black plastic tensioners clear the tube. You may see a white plastic piece that holds the tension spring.
    6) With the white plastic spring holder in the tube, twist the end cap counter clockwise . You should feel the spring start to tension and it should be opposite the direction the fabric is rolled onto the tube.
I twisted mine about 10 times around.
    7) Push the spring rod and left-hand end back into postion. Be sure to line up the black plastic pieces into the tube (they will only go in one way). Make sure to keep tension on the spring!
    8) Replace the right-hand end with the spring and cap. Replace the pin and your done! Note: I used a pair of needle-nose pliers to pull the spring rod all the way up to replace the pin.
set the cover back and test it. Mine is tight as a drum now!
All in all it took about 30 minutes to figure out what I was doing. Hopefully this will save you some time.

Thanks! It really is simple to do once you get the mechanics of it.

I wish I had a cargo cover to fix. Anyone know of a good source besides the wrecking yard? Been looking for a while now.
