    Howell TBI ?

    I know this question has been asked before Is any one running the howell TBI? Does it help in passing the emissions test? Also any problems? SK

      I run it. I love it. Passes CO's VERY LAX visual inspection just fine. Tailpipe is fine, too. In CO, you have to have a cat and all the associated smog equipment (AIR tubes, AIR pump, valves, etc.).

      I didn't notice where you where before I hit REPLY, so of course your state may vary. The V8 kit IS NOT legal in CA. Only the I6 kit is, IIRC, because it's basically MOPAR's FI.

          I have one as well with a complete MSD ignition system - it tripled my mileage and I have never had any problems with either system

          We have no under the hood checks here, so if it passes the sniffer - you are good to go

                  Mileage is/was around 12 or so. You buy TBI for your FSJ for the ease of starting and smooth running. You buy Toyota for better mileage. <g>
