    In Today's News . . .

Well, rounding third base now . . . Heading Home - almost done!

    With paint work anyway.

I worried about getting it all back together carefully. AND remembering "where" everything goes!!

    [/IMG]

    [/IMG]

    [/IMG]

    Now the potential dilemma ...

I am down south for the winter.

He got this done MUCH earlier than expected.

    Sooo -
Now I have to find a buddy to go pick it up, AND find a temp home for it until I get back in town.

Jim, it appears you went with black along the same lower body lines I have been contemplating, sticking to rockers below the doors and first body line along the flares. Are you staying this way or planning to add the vinyl chief decals? Anything special about the black semigloss? I was looking at doing something that would provide some protection from rock chips, etc.

I can understand not wanting to run back up north into full Winter weather. I hope you can find someone to store it indoors for you until Spring.
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.

            Hi -

The black out is just part of the scheme I came up with.

Nothing special on the paint - It can and will chip I am sure. This one is a driver for me....

You could have them add some of that clear soft protectant over sections of the lower quarter. But this will affect the sheen of the semi-gloss look.

I will add a custom version of the Indian pattern as I did on the yellow SJ.

Also combining 2 themes together. There will be the large Cherokee Chief on the tailgate.

              Thanks !

Yes indeed, it's hard to sit here and see pics like everybody else!

I am super excited to see it in person, but trust me, I KNOW the wife will not let me/us depart early.. lol

Guess i will just bide my time and find a place to store it when he's done ....

There is some more work he is doing.. rust preventative and undercoat here and there.

                      o man,.....love the Hugger Orange !!!

that is what I used on the 69 charger
it is a rich deep orange,
not like some of the washed out vitamin C oranges I have seen.

that CHIEF is going to be a head turner.

nothing on the Jeep lots today will even come close to that thing !!!

                          In Today's News . . .

Look what came home to roost today!

                          [/IMG]

Had some challenges... The YJ was in the SJs spot.. BUT - the critters decided to chew some wires in it, and it would NOT start. Always fires right up? Ooops. So, had to figure that out.. and THEN -

For the first time ever, the Chero wouldn't start? What ?
It was stumbling a bit and died when loading it on the trailer. Hmmm

Turns out, it was out of gas.
Of course, I have no idea how much fuel is in it...
No gauge.. in fact, no dash at all! lol ( Best excuse ever ! ).
Remember, I dropped this off for paint work 6 months ago or so.

So, had to rig up the filler system, and add a few gallons of fuel.
It would still not fire up?? Then I remember, with a direct injected single line system, air pockets will keep fuel from flowing...

We sprayed some starting fluid in, and it stumbled to life.. and after a minute, it was running fine.
So. for you guys with a GEN V system, remember to purge your fuel lines before starting.

                          And now, "some" reassembly required.

Edit - Color looks washed out... so click on the pic to open it up. The color will true up then.
