yep, backup lights are obstructed. Tail lights and turn signals won't be. The problem is that if you don't block the reverse lights, the hinge and latch system can get too close to the tailgate and if the vehicle is slightly tweaked, they'll hit. Then again, my reverse lights never could be used for anything more than simply amusement, as in laughing when they come on being that they can't light up a dixie cup

what are the differences between the dozer and the chiffhanger (assuming the cliffhanger is still available)? looks like this one is a little taller and the tire is a little farther off to the passangers side.

Here in Mass, that would fail inspection for blocking the reverse lights, and license plate.

only real difference between the dozer and the cliffhanger will be the main bumper size / shape. The Dozer is a skinny / tall bumper, where-as the Cliffhanger will be wider, almost as tall (wider from front to back).

For the license plate, we will probably refer people to which kit we recommend (until such time that we carry a license relocation kit). For the reverse lights, I'm hoping we can eventually modify the bumper either to have built-in lights or mounts for reverse lights.

Inspection? Like, what IS that? I have not seen my backup lights luminate in 6 years. No biggie here. I think they work on Krista's Wag. Maybe...

I like the looks of it Ryan, Brent, and agree that the wheel pad could be different, better wheel attachment. Maybe a triangular or round pad with 3 studs.

I am curious what is sitting on the orange stands underneath too... Is that attaching points to the frame or something else entirely?

That is sweet , any chance of getting the tire mount to angle back towards the tail gate, if even a little, kinda follow the lines of the rear end maybe? Do you have a price yet?

As far as backup lights, a hole saw and some small round lights would look nice mounted IN the bumper + they would give you way more light.

As far as a lighted tag relocation kit, I need to find it again but while scanning for venders for a poly tranny mount I found a place that has a lighted stud kit for the tages. The two top studs have LEDs in them, look like they light up the tag just fine, MAN! I need to find that site again. I'll post when I do.

I made a bracket to move my LP to the bumper cuz it was half blocked. Don't want to give the LEOs an opportunity to pull over. I bout a cheap light at the zone and made up a bracket and extended my wires. I guess I never thought of a re-lo bracket. Oh well. I'll snap pic when I get a chance.

That would be the axle of the Jeep, as I'm still working out some bugs in the wiring under the rig (not getting full power during cranking)

Even if you put auxillary reverse lights and relocated the license plate?

Relocated lighted plate should be fine.
But the stock signal/backup lighting must be functioning. ALL aftermarket lighting is illegal on the streets of Massachusetts. But I cannot seem to find the CMR reg on it online. But here in Mass. They will try and get you for anything. Same deal with your horn and headlights. Must be functioning using stock system and use stock horn/headlight switches.

we're also looking at whether or not we can cut down the hinge height so that it doesn't block nearly as much.

I'm also working on a design that will allow for a strap to keep the swingout from opening all the way (ie: a catch system) that will have a removable portion. This way under normal use it will keep the swingout from opening all the way, but when needed it can be disconnected and allow the swingout to open all the way.

I really like the looks of it. I think tabs on the bumper for backup lights would work as well as the fog light tabs on the front bumper do. Don't forget about us Truck guys, we want one too.
