    1989 Grand Wagoneer

Hey everyone, I'm a bit confused with the grand wagoneer - I thought the SJ style body on a frame was discontinued in 83, but i noticed a a 1989 grand wagoneer for sale today so i did a bit of looking it up and it went till 91(rare that year) So i am wondering is the 1989 a FSJ?? sj? and does it even have a frame or is it unibody?

The frame is important to me - i love frames

Does anyone have experience with this make and model compared to the pre 83? how are the engines?

    Thanks ahead of time

SJ model was through 1991. 1983 was the last year for the Cherokee, and the last year the Wagoneer was dubbed the Wagoneer. In 1984, the SJ was renamed the Grand Wagoneer, and stayed that way through 1991. The XJ model in 1984 took over the Wagoneer name.

As billyrb said, the "Grand Wagoneer" is an SJ. I have an '88 and 90% of the parts were interchangeable. Mine currently has the 360 out of a '78 Cherokee in it. The Grands were the upper class Jeeps of their era.
