    Trans T-case length

This topic was brought up in another discussion and I finally had time to crawl under 3 vehicles to measure them.

All the dimensions are from the bell housing/engine mounting surface to the rear of the transfer case surface not counting any tail shaft housings or shafts.

    700r4/241c = 37.5 inches

    545rfe/133 = 37 inches

    46RH/241D = 42 inchs

46RE = The 46RE is 5" shorter than the 46RH so that should make it 38inches.

Unfortunately the 545rfe/133 set up is in my 03 Durango and the 133 tcase is only an in and out box with no low range. Don't think a low range box would add much length

The 46RH trans will definitely push the tcase back into a gas tank on a Wagoneer

the 46rh and re are the same cases. they are both an A518. the difference is internal. hydraulic vs electronic governor.
