Ever heard of a Wagoneer "Snow Boss"?

One is for sale on Dabay. Never heard or read anything about this model before.

Snow boss is the name of the plow package Jeep offered. I think they started calling it that in me mid 70's.

Edit. One could order the Snow Boss plow option on any model FSJ. It's not a special model or trim package.

I like it. Wonder if I could make enough money plowing to justify buying it? Sigh, probably not, even the current "monster storm" has only given us about an inch of frozen rain.

Looks good, too bad they screwed up the transfercase. Probably be expensive to repair that.

That's what I was going to say... its a 4-door cherokee chief not a wag. I didn't know that they made a 4-door chief! That has got to be pretty rare. I have never seen the chief emblem right behind the front tires like that. Very interesting!

I've seen quite a few Widetracs with the logo there too.

It's just a 4 door Cherokee with the "S" trim package. Chief trim packaged vehicles have the big "Cherokee Chief" on the bottom of the door. There isn't really much difference between the two though. The Indian Head emblem was placed on the quater panels on the 4 door Cherokees and they show up on both "S" and "Chief" trimmed rigs. The 4 doors aren't all that rare either, especially since '77 and '78 are some of the biggest selling years of the Cherokees and '77 being the first year of the 4 door Cherokee.

why does it have an S emblem when it's not a WT? Thing aint even stuck on there straight.

I dig the Snow Boss sticker though

Because the "S" package was available on both N/T and W/T Cherokee's.

I would be a little leary of that jeep. The condition of the body does NOT match the condition of the frame. Heck, the rear of the truck has obviously been resprayed. Look at the color differance.

I would bet there is a fair amount of bondo in it.

Somewhere online there's pics of some factory 4 door chiefs with the lettering and all.

On a side note, why was the big circular Chief logo placed on the fender sometimes and others behind the rear window? Reffering to 2-doors...

It's not a special model or trim package
I also believe this to be true.

Trim package is the Cherokee "S"

I believe the SNOW BOSS and AMC decals are just something this owner wanted to do.

Interior/Exterior look pretty nice, Whew the underneath appears a bit of roughage.
