Plenty of owners have put Wagoneer axles under their CJs. It's the leas troublesome way to get a 44 front in a CJ. A Wagoneer 44 is only 5" wider than the C104 front 30. You'd need to outboard the front springs, and cut the body for the rears.Tim Reese

So your saying that a 78 chief frame would be too wide? What about the guys that have put Willys wagons and trucks on SJ frames? Chief body width, 74.8”, 71 commando 73”. Chief wheelbase 108”, commando 104”. All seems close. Maybe with some slights mods to SJ frame, the commando body would work,

However, with enough metal work, anything is possible... A Wagoneer is more the size of a JLU Wrangler Unlimited - a lot bigger than a Jeepster/Jeepster Commando.Last edited by tgreese; 08-09-2020, 09:14 AM.Tim Reese

They widened the axles (without widening the frame, springs or mounts), but that came long after the Jeepster was gone. Last Jeepster Commando (bullnose) was made in 1973, and the wide-track axles started in 1982.Last edited by tgreese; 08-10-2020, 10:30 AM.Tim Reese
