    Eastern Washington Newbie

On a wild hair impulsive whim I picked up an 85 grand wagoneer about a month ago. Original, but rebuilt 360 motor and tranny in it. Idaho and California it’s whole life which I thought was great and it has almost no body rust as a result. Unfortunately the sunroof has taken a toll and the interior damage is more extensive than realized. Having said that, I’m pretty hooked already. Who knew a car with virtually no hp would be so fun to drive?! The thrill of bringing it back to life is so gratifying. So many mysteries to solve.
I can’t count the number of hours spent combing through this forum or looking for parts. I’m already taking heat from the husband about the amount of time I’m spending on it. Last night, I waited til he was asleep and worked on it. I bet you understand!
I’ve realized quickly that you guys are freakin awesome and helpful! Thanks so much. I don’t have much to offer in return, but look forward to the day when I can pay it forward. Here she is. Yet to be named.

Welcome to the madness! I always smile when I see a GW that is no longer in the wood crate.

          Welcome to it!

We were planning on moving to Spokane a few years ago. I lived in Kennewick briefly out of high school.

          Love a Grand Wagoneer!

Hey Kerry! Welcome to the group! I spent 6 years in Northwood (went to Centennial Middle School and West Valley High School). LOVED Spokane! Your truck is super cool! There are a few FSJers up in your neck of the woods, too.

            We love stories like:

Welcome, and off to a good start. Always seem to be good ones to be had in that neck of the woods. You'll find a ton of great folks here with a wealth of great information to help along the way.

Thanks for the welcomes! Rang-a-Stang.....I moved here 3 years ago from Colorado and love it too. Bet you would not believe that Spokane valley is the 8th hottest real estate market in the country. Crazy!
All I see up here is one old Cherokee. And other people on the road do not seem to recognize my elevated level of coolness.

That makes sense, everyone is going nuts for the Boise valley too. That of course will change when the bubble pops like last time, but when is still a guess. I know the CA market is getting hammered and all those 'equity locusts' are stuck now, so I'm sure that'll affect other nearby markets. I have a good friend I need to visit outside Spokane at some point. He just bought a lot of acreage and plans to build a shop/living space.

Where'd you move from CO? I have lots of familia in Fort Collins and I was born in Greeley. Love Estes Park...

iapexl8r (his page here)used to live down here in SoCal and moved to the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area. He was daily driving his Widetrack when he moved there and posted a cool off roading video up there (Cool offroading video). Super good guy.

There is a guy really into fsj's in the Spokane valley area. He is on the other site a lot. 66stepside I think. He always has an awesome build or 3 going.
