Am restoring my 1989 all original Grand Wagoneer - Baltic Blue with Sand interior. Stripped everything off myself - bumpers, grill, roof rack, markers, tail lights etc. so the paint shop can focus on prep and paint. No rust or repairs needed - just sand and paint to OEM Baltic blue - original.
Gave them three instructions - pull the windshield prior to prep and paint to uncover any rust that might need to be repaired - prime and paint. 3 small dings on lower doors, and when mixing to the factory baltic blue - please do not go darker -if anything, go slightly lighter.
I get the call that it is ready so when I pick it up - dings not fixed, windshield not replaced and color is darker not lighter. I can live with the tiny dings and can even have the glass replaced in my driveway and see for myself what shape things are - but in bright sun I can't tell from a distance if it is baltic blue or black.
$2,000 paint job - am sure if I press him to repaint he will cut corners and do a Expletive Deleted!Expletive Deleted!Expletive Deleted!Expletive Deleted!ty job - shall I just live with it?
Really ticks me off -
