Did 60s Glads have a coolant overflow bottle?

There isn't one in mine, just a hose running from the cap down the side of the radiator. I don't think you could mount an overflow there because the battery would be in the way...

Mine doesn't have one either. The PO did some interesting things with mine though, so it isn't necessarily and example of what should and shouldn't be there.

No over flow bottles in the 60s. It may have been as late as 78 before they were standard equipment. Our 76 & two 77s don't have them. The 76 Cherokee 401 donor for my GW had one though. The over flow nipple for the 60s FSJs was on the right side. It is not hard to route the hose over to the left side.
Ran when parked.

My '76 Wagoneer and '78 Cherokee did not have one but the '79 did. You can always use a Coke bottle but be sure to drill 2 holes in the cap, one for the hose and a small pinhole for expansion/contraction. Redneck, yes but it worked for me.
You know it's bad when your car's on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!
