My "break down" thread

I decided that since I am breaking down more then building my Jeep I'm going to have a thread for that instead.

Day 1: After transferring the title and registering it I took the Jeep out for a new set of shoes and it's first inspection in over ten years. It performed flawlessly into town for it's set of shoes and inspection, even passing with zero problems.
The driver home was of course a different story, just a few miles into the drive home it abruptly cut out and died. After a little trouble shooting I found the fuel pump was no longer "pumping".

Here's a pic:

I towed it home and now it's going to sit until I get back from Michigan in a week.

Since I plan on updating this every time the Jeep breaks down on the road I expect it to get quite long quite fast.

One must be prepared for almost anything going wrong.
On the way to the Jeep show the clutch linkage decided to let go after only 34 years (186,000 miles) of use.
I fixed it with electrical tape and a piece of wire.
Got me home, would have gone a few years had I used duct tape.

You had better plan on replacing everything rubber or neoprene if it has been touched by gasoline.

Hopefully its just a fuel pump! Might also be a good idea to replace all the soft fuel lines.

What else has been causing you to break down?

I'm glad mine doesn't roll over on its side like that when it breaks down.
